Carol Xiaojuan Ou graduated from the Department of Information Systems at City University of Hong Kong. Her PhD dissertation was about website design issues in electronic commerce.

Before joining Tilburg University, Carol was a Lecturer at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where she received many research grants, as well as awards on the excellence in teaching and research.
