My current research in philosophy of language focuses on disagreement, contextualism vs. minimalism in semantics, theories of truth and the controversies over realism vs. constructivism in the human sciences. I'm also interested in evolutionairy psychology.
I was visiting fellow at the universities of Cologne (1998) and Stellenbosch (2008).
President of the Dutch-Flemish Society for Analytical Philosophy. Referee for Erkenntnis, Synthese, Logique et Analyse, Philosophial Explorations.
I was a member of KNAW and FWO assessment committees in philosophy and linguistics.
I was a mamber of a Dutch-Flemish Evaluation Committee ('Visitatiecommissie') Onderwijs in 1998
