Expertise

The dissertation project of Gerardus Lucas is part of the Innovation and Learning stream of research at CIR. He will study the role of performance feedback on the impetus to engage in innovation and innovation enabling behaviors. Within this feedback mechanism, the role of aspiration levels is considered crucial. Aspiration levels, which are goals on a number of important outcome dimensions, are based on distinct sources of information. The dissertation aims to uncover how these different sources of information, i.e. the track record of the organization and the track record and aspiration levels of salient competitors, are balanced. Attention will also be paid to the influence this balance has on the impetus to engage in innovation and innovation enabling behaviors.
