Expertise

My research is organized around two themes: international business relationships and lean management (also known as the successful Toyota production system).

The first theme focusses on the use of contracts and formalised procedures in international business relationships with special reference to the differences in culture and institutions. Regarding this topic I am working on my PhD disseration at the moment.

The second theme focusses on the application of lean management principles, originating from Japan, with special reference to process design and worker motivation. At the moment we are working with several companies from the logistics sector on developing a training program for the implementation of lean management principles.
