Expertise

My work connects personality motivation (implicit and explicit), autobiographical memory, and cross-cultural psychology (e.g., acculturation, biculturalism).

One exemplary question that arises from this link is: Why do people talk differently about their lives in different cultural contexts, and what purposes does this serve? Drawing on an evolutionary, developmental approach to explain cultural variance, I am interested in finding out how such differences and similarities across cultural contexts can inform a more universal, cross-cultural perspective on psychology.
