ExpertiseMy research concerns the interplay between two general mental processes that influence judgment: rational, deliberate analysis, and intuitive, emotional reactions. I am interested in the interaction between these two kinds of thinking and the implications for people?s thoughts and beliefs. In my research, I have focused on three general areas: (1) the emotion of disgust and the role it plays in our political and moral attitudes; (2) how people choose between intuition and reason when making decisions; and (3) when and why people regret their choices.
