Bio

My research concerns several topics within business ethics, professional ethics and philosophical ethics. I have published among others about the ethics of CSR, corporate governance and democracy, and the ethics of professionals in finance. Furthermore I am interested in the philosophies of Emmanuel Levinas, Peter Sloterdijk and Alasdair MacIntyre.

Currently I am working as an editor of a book about the meaning of work.

Expertise

My areas of expertise are Business ethics, Philosophical ethics and Contemporary Philosophy. A joint paper of me and Wim Dubbink has been awarded with the best paper award of the Society for Business Ethics in 2009.

Teaching

I have thaught several courses about ethics and business ethics and philosophy. Furthermore, I teach courses within the field of contemporary philosophy, among others a close reading course about the philosophy of Emmanuel Levinas and a course about comtemporary philosophers' critique on the dominance of instrumental reason in our society. This later topic can be seen as part of the ongoing discussion about the Enlightenment and counterenlightenment.
