My research interests are Behavioral Economics (theory and experiments), Development Economics and Poverty. My research examines the influence of poverty on the psychology of people, their decisions and productivity, using both, theory and experiments in the lab and the field. On the theoretical side, I look at the implications of bounded rationality on welfare economics and of poverty on aspirations and decisions. Experimentally, I study different institutional, psychological and biological factors affecting people's productivity and motivation.  In the past three years, I have been devoted to study the behavioral and economic constraints to grow of small firms in Indonesia, Vietnam, Kenya and Ghana, where I have designed and conducted field experiments to advice policy makers. This project is being funded by DFID, UK.
