Moreover, by storing your work in the right place, you ensure that your work can be taken over by a colleague. This is for example important when you are on holiday or if you are absent for a longer period of time due to illness. How do I use the university's Wi-Fi network?
With eduroam you have easy and secure access to Tilburg Universit's wired and wireless network. You also have to access to the networdks of other institutions that offer eduroam.
What do I need a VPN connection for?
VPN (Virtual Private Network) is used to access services and servers that are not freely accessible via public internet.
Can I use my own computer or laptop for work?
Preferably work on a Tilburg University laptop or PC. They are equipped with various security features, such as an encrypted hard disk, an antivirus program, and an active firewall.
Clean desk, why?
A Clean Desk policy simply means that there is as little stuff on your desk as possible, only the things you require to do your job. In addition, this means that confidential information should not be left unattended on your desk, to prevent (among other things) theft and exposure.
What do I do if I have become the victim of a phishing scam?
Always be vigilant when you receive emails. Companies do not ask for personal information or account details via email. This also applies to the ICT or HR department of our university.
