Tilburg School of Economics and Management once again ranks high in Economists Top 4009th January 2020
The researchers of the Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM) traditionally do well in the Economists Top 40. In the 2019 edition, Tilburg University ranks second, after Erasmus University Rotterdam, and TiSEM takes the lead in its output of high-impact articles.
More autonomy and contact with the outside world reduce aggression in prisoners09th January 2020
A few daily routine adjustments in correctional facilities can substantially reduce aggressive behavior in prisoners. This is one of the main outcomes of an evaluation of an experiment with an alternative detention regime that was conducted in the Nieuwegein correctional facility by Ben Vollaard (Tilburg University), Marike Knoef (Leiden University), and Tom van Dijk, independent consultant.

TiSEM hosts an average of 30-35 visiting researchers annually for periods ranging from a week to several months, as well as more than 200 seminars and informal workshops per year.
Various seminars are held each week, providing frequent opportunities for visiting researchers, PhD students and faculty members to discuss current research and ongoing projects.
