Melissa van Wingerden wins Johan de Witt thesis award 2021
On Tuesday, December 7, 2021, during the online Autumn Congress of the 'Koninklijk Actuarieel Genootschaap' (Royal Dutch Actuarial Association), Melissa van Wingerden MSc, received from jury member Drs. Lieke Werner AAG, the Johan de Witt Thesis Award 2021 for her thesis "The optimization of collective investment strategies for heterogeneous individuals".
The jury appreciates Melissa van Wingerden's thesis in particular because it shows that an actuarial approach can provide helpful insights for pension funds faced with the choices within the new pension system.
Melissa van Wingerden graduated in the master's program Quantitative Finance and Actuarial Science at Tilburg University. She is currently working at Achmea.
