Vici grant for econometrician Johan van Leeuwaarden: Balancing load in the 'cloud'14th April 2021
Prof. Johan van Leeuwaarden (dept. Econometrics & Operations Research) has been awarded an NWO Vici grant for research into algorithms in the 'cloud'. The Vici grant amounts to 1.5 million euros. He will develop new algorithms that let us find quickly a short queue in enormous data centers.

The universities in the Netherlands have presented an alternative coalition agreement – right after the Dutch parliamentary elections and at the start of the formation of a new Cabinet. Fourteen students form the first Dutch Student Cabinet and each represent a Minister’s portfolio with a suitable plan for the future of the Netherlands.
