Melissa van Wingerden wins Johan de Witt thesis award 202107th December 2021
On Tuesday, December 7, 2021, during the online Autumn Congress of the 'Koninklijk Actuarieel Genootschaap' (Royal Dutch Actuarial Association), Melissa van Wingerden MSc, received from jury member Drs. Lieke Werner AAG, the Johan de Witt Thesis Award 2021 for her thesis "The optimization of collective investment strategies for heterogeneous individuals".
Kenny Meesters in panel Union Civil Protection Knowledge Network06th December 2021
On December 7, the Network Day of the Union Civil Protection Knowledge Network platform will take place. This is a recent EU flagship initiative in civil protection and disaster management. The day includes a high-level session during which European Commissioner for Crisis Management Janez Lenarčič will launch officially the Knowledge Network joined by a panel of prominent decision-makers in disaster management. Kenny Meesters, researcher and lecturer crisis management at Tilburg University, will take place in the panel.
Kristy Jansen wins Inquire Europe Research Prize 202103rd December 2021
Dr. Kirsty Jansen (Department of Finance and affiliated with the Dutch Central Bank) wins the Inquire Europe Research Prize 2021 for the research paper entitled “Long-term Investors, Demand Shifts, and Yields”.
VIA AUGUSTA proposal ‘Leveraging the potential of a System-of-Systems approach to infrastructure management’ granted by NWO/NGinfra02nd December 2021
Wendy van der Valk, together with Henk Akkermans and Carol Ou (TiSEM), Saskia Lavrijssen and Martijn Groenleer (TLS) have been awarded a grant by NWO/NGInfra for their VIA AUGUSTA project proposal. NGinfra, or Next Generation Infrastructure, involves a collaboration between main infrastructure managers in the Netherlands aimed at working towards an integrated vision on how to equip the infrastructure of the future. The grant amounts to nearly 1 million euros. The consortium partners are Alliander, Havenbedrijf Rotterdam, Rijkswaterstaat, ProRail.
EBS Best Paper Award 2021 for Lien Denoo22nd November 2021
