Workshop Philosophy of Love
We are pleased to announce our call for abstracts for a workshop on the Philosophy of Love, to take place at Tilburg University on 13-14 February 2020.
We are inviting abstracts on these and related questions in any sub-discipline of philosophy. Possible topics include (but are not limited to): romantic love; love of animals; religious love; love in the digital age; falling in love; lovesickness; familial love; erotic love; the ethics of love; love and death/ mourning; the end of love; romantic love; charity/ neighbourly love etc.
This will be a small workshop centered around the discussion of full papers, which will be made available in advance. Every presenter will receive ample time to share their ideas and connect them to the larger conference-wide conversation. Confirmed speakers include: Anca Gheaus, Tony Milligan, Heleen Pott and Katrien Schaubroeck.
Your abstract should be 350-500 words and prepared for blind review. Please submit the abstract as a PDF document to firstname.lastname@example.org and include your name, departmental affiliation, email address and the title of your paper in the body of the email.
The submission deadline for abstracts is 1 September 2019. Successful applicants will be informed 1 October. Please note that successful applicants will be expected to submit a full draft of their paper by 15 January 2020.
Papers dealing specifically with the ethics of love will - upon blind review - be considered for a special issue of the Journal of Ethics (Springer).
