Max van der Stoel Human Rights Award

The Max van der Stoel Human Rights Award is a prize for academic publications in the area of human rights. The award was established in 1995 with a view to draw more attention to this field of study in academic education and research. The prize is awarded by Tilburg Law School together with the Human Rights Research School to students and PhD candidates who have written a thesis, or any other academic work, in the field of human rights. The prize is named after Max van der Stoel, a former OSCE Commissioner on National Minorities, and is in honour of his esteemed contributions to the field.
