Prof. Aldashev is a renowned authority in the field of organizational economics and economic governance, with a particular focus on developing countries.

Prof. Aldashev's work focuses on the economics of the non-profit sector, the analysis of traditional institutions in developing countries (e.g. customary justice, tribes/clans, marriage contracts/arrangements), and the political economy of development. His work has been published in leading journals in economics (e.g. Journal of the European Economic Association, Economic Journal, Journal of Development Economics), political science (Quarterly Journal of Political Science, Political Science: Research and Methods), and in interdisciplinary journals (Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences, World Development).

During his stay on campus as Ronald Coase Visiting Professor, Prof. Aldashev will participate in TILEC activities and actively interact with the TiU community. In addition, he will teach a masterclass on economic governance in the development context and organize a workshop so that the academic community and the students of Tilburg University also benefit from his extensive knowledge and experience.

Prof. Aldashev is a Professor of Economics at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and a Research Fellow at the ECARES (European Center for Advanced Research in Economics and Statistics). He is a member of the European Development Network (EUDN), founding member of the N.G.O. (Nonprofits, Governments, and Organizations) Network, and an associate member of Theoretical Research in Development Economics (ThReD) research network.

The Ronald Coase Professorship is a visiting chair, offered annually by TILEC, that aims to bring to Tilburg University experienced scholars of academic distinction in the broader field of law and economics to conduct research and interact with the Tilburg faculty. The late Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences Ronald Coase (1910-2013) gave his personal consent to the establishment of the chair.
