Professor of Legal History Randall Lesaffer appointed to Academia Europaea

Professor of Legal History Randall Lesaffer has been appointed to the Academia Europaea, the European Academy for Sciences, Humanities and Letters. Just as national academies do, the European Academy aims to promote excellence in all branches of scholarship for the public benefit and the advancement of education. Membership is by invitation only and implies a great recognition of one’s academic work.

Randall Lesaffer is professor of legal history at Tilburg University since 1999. He has been dean of Tilburg Law School between 2008 and 2012. His work focuses on constitutional history and the history of international law. He recently published a book entitled De rechtstaat. Een geschiedenis van het Westen (Owl Press 2024).

Lesaffer has become a member of the section Law of the  Academia Europaea as well as an affiliated member of the section History and Archeology.
