ELI Young Lawyers Award

The ELI Young Lawyers Award was established in 2016 to give voice to young lawyers while fulfilling ELI’s core mission of improving the quality of law in Europe.

Candidates must submit a previously unpublished paper that offers practical suggestions for a pressing European legal issue. Papers have to be submitted by 30 April 2023.

In addition to an extract of the winning paper being published in the ELI Newsletter and on its website, best efforts will be made to publish the paper in UNIDROIT’s Uniform Law Review, an Oxford University Press journal. The winner will also be invited to present their paper at the 2023 ELI Annual Conference (costs of up to EUR 750 covered), they will be awarded a cash prize of EUR 750 and will be given 5 years of ELI membership. Finally, the winner can elect to embark on a paid internship (of up to 3 month) at a law firm affiliated with Interleges, the sponsor of the award.
