Digital Legal Studies

Digital Legal Studies | Law Sector Plan, 2019-2025

The Digital Legal Studies research initiative is a large 6-year collaboration between the law schools of four Dutch universities, spearheaded by TILT. The project is part of the broader Law Sector Plan, funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) and NWO.

TILT is proud to lead this interuniversity and strongly multidisciplinary partnership between more than 50 researchers from Tilburg University, the University of Amsterdam, Radboud University Nijmegen and Maastricht University. Together, we explore how algorithms, data, digitalization, automation and artificial intelligence affect our legal system and society. By bringing together legal scholars, data scientists and academics from the humanities and social sciences, we aim to shape and strengthen the research agenda on digital legal studies both nationally and internationally. Our collaboration, the Digital Legal Lab, strives to be a leading research hub at the forefront of law and technology issues.
