Brainport Centre for Technology and Law

Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology, and Society (TILT) is one of the founding parties and board members of the recently established  Brainport Centre for Technology and Law, together with TU/e (Eindhoven University of Technology), City of Eindhoven, and law offices.

The center will deploy activities concerning the regulation of technological innovations and function as a forum and sounding board for entrepreneurs, policy makers and relevant governmental agencies on a regional, national and international level.

Erasmus Mundus

TILT participates in the Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate Program of Law, Science and Technology (together with the universities of Bologna, Turin, Barcelona Autonoma, Vilnius, Luxemburg, and Hanover).

This program attracts 12 PhD students per year.

Privacy and Identity Lab (Pl.lab)

TILT is one of the founding participants in the Privacy and Identity Lab (Pl.lab), together with Radboud University Nijmegen's Department of Computer Science, TNO and SIDN.

Part of its applied research on privacy, data protection and identity management is being performed within Pl.lab.

Network of Centers

TILT participates in the Network of Centers. A group of academic centers launched the Network of Internet and Society Research Centers (“NoC” or “the Network”) in 2012. The Network of Centers is a collaborative initiative among academic institutions with a focus on interdisciplinary research on the development, social impact, policy implications, and legal issues concerning the Internet. This collective aims to increase interoperability between participating centers in order to stimulate the creation of new cross-national, cross-disciplinary conversation, debate, teaching, learning, and engagement regarding the most pressing questions around new technologies, social change, and related policy and regulatory developments.
