Presentation by Anna Berti Suman, PhD Candidate at LTMS
Anna will reflect on her field experience researching around the Fukushima prefecture the response of local communities to the nuclear disaster through civic radiation monitoring technologies and the governmental uptake thereof. Anna will illustrate how the community claimed their right to live in a healthy environment and to access environmental information and the reaction of responsible institutions to such claims. Anna will also discuss some of the methodological and ethical challenges that she encountered both before and during the fieldwork. The fieldwork was supported by TGLS BAD Fund.
