Education
Tilburg Law School offers a rich variety of programs in the fields of Law, Data Science and Public Administration.
The programs offer state-of-the-art, high quality education. Attractive because of the effective combination of face to face and online teaching methods. The programs are constantly being improved, based on the latest insights. Currently, more than 4,000 students are following a degree program in law, data science or public administration.

Research
The research conducted within Tilburg Law School is focused at four Signature Plans:
- Regulating Socio-Technical Change | How can we regulate the socio-technical changes coming with the rapid evolution of technology?
- Connecting Organizations in a Sustainable Society | How does the law help, or limit, the interaction between private actors and technology driven economic activities in the pursuit of a sustainable society?
- Global Law and Governance | How can we shape a “new” law and governance in a sustainable way, now the state is no longer the sole starting point for law and governance?
- Crime and Criminal Justice in the Age of Globalization and Digitalization | How can we handle activities that seriously undermine the integrity of the social and economic fabric, democratic values, and our environment?

Regulation of technology calls for a different view of humans

We must acknowledge that humans are never entirely predictable; otherwise, regulation will never be effective.

Researcher Mara Păun wins Johannes Cornelis Ruigrok Prize
08th April 2024The Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities (KHMW) has awarded the J.C. Ruigrok Prize to researcher Mara Păun (TLS). She will receive the prize on June 14 for her PhD thesis on the interaction between legal and technological developments.

Three Tilburg University Professors Crown-Appointed Members of the SER
28th March 2024The Dutch Cabinet has appointed Irmgard Borghouts (TSB), Bastiaan Starink (TLS), and Mijntje Lückerath-Rovers (TIAS) as new members of the Social and Economic Council (SER). They will advise the government on the domains of entrepreneurship, decent work, sustainable growth, an inclusive society, a fair distribution of income, and broad prosperity. The new members have been appointed for the period of April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2026.
