Tilburg Law School offers highly-ranked national and international education and legal research. Tilburg Law School is ranked among the highest as 'Top International Law School' by the American Social Science Research Network (SSRN). Tilburg University is ranked 28th worldwide in the field of Law by Times Higher Education (2021).
Education
Currently, 3,000 students are enrolled at Tilburg Law School, who are doing a degree program in law or public administration. Students in Tilburg can choose from five Bachelor's programs, one of which is taught in English (Bachelor Global Law) and ten Master's programs, eight of which are taught in English. The international orientation of Tilburg Law School is reflected in these Bachelor's and Master's programs.
Research
The research conducted within Tilburg Law School is aimed at social relevance and provides students with the tools and skills to study and deal with current issues at an academic level.
For those who aspire to a career as a legal researcher, there is the Tilburg Graduate Law School. Students can obtain their doctorate (PhD) by doing a doctoral research project and writing a PhD thesis (three or four years).

02nd February 2023Tilburg University has joined NERA, the Netherlands Energy Research Alliance, to strengthen cooperation with other universities and knowledge institutions in the field of energy research. This cooperation fits into Tilburg University's broader strategy to stimulate research on climate change and energy issues from the social sciences and humanities.

Prof. Elies van Sliedregt appointed to Advisory Committee on Public International Law
31st January 2023The Dutch government has appointed Tilburg University professor of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Elies van Sliedregt as a member of the Advisory Committee on Public International Law (CAVV) effective February 1, 2023. The CAVV is an independent body which advises the government, the House of Representatives and the Senate of the Netherlands on international law issues.

31st January 2023The Academic Collaborative Center on Climate and Energy has officially kicked off on January 30. In this Collaborative Center Tilburg University enters into a long-term partnership with societal partners to address the climate crisis. The collaboration focuses on social, rather than technical, innovation as a driver of progress and change in the energy transition.
