Prof. Henk Witte deputy dean of TST as of August 1
The Tilburg School of Catholic Theology (TST) is pleased to announce that the Executive Board of Tilburg University has found a new replacement dean for TST for the period August 1, 2021 - September 1, 2022. Prof. Henk Witte has accepted this assignment.
In order to allow sufficient time for the search for a new dean, it was decided to appoint Henk Witte for the period of 1 year. The procedure for finding a new dean will be continued in the fall. In the past year, Prof. Geert Vervaeke has done an excellent job of managing the faculty together with TST staff as the replacement dean. As of August 1, however, he will again fully focus on the deanship of Tilburg Law School.
Prof. Henk Witte will serve as dean of the TST faculty for two days a week. He was previously associated with the faculty as associate professor of dogmatics, special professor at the Xavier Chair for Spirituality and Dogmatics from an Ignatian Perspective and as vice dean of education.
Since his retirement in 2016, he has been a member of the Flemish-Dutch core editorial board that provided a new Dutch translation of the Vaticanum II council documents, of the NOSTER research group The future of religious leadership in a post-Christendom culture in the Netherlands, and he participated in the Peter and Paul Seminar study project on the doctrinal authority of bishops' conferences in a world church. He is involved as a teacher with the Priest and Deacon School Bovendonk and confidential advisor on integrity with the Vereniging Ons Middelbaar Onderwijs. He also supervised several PhD students of the faculty.
