Four teachers received grants from NWO for their PhD research06th September 2021
As of September, four teachers will start their PhD research at Tilburg University with a grant from NWO. This Doctoral Grant for Teachers offers teachers support in writing a dissertation. With this grant they can gain research experience to improve the quality of education and strengthen the connection between universities and schools.
Statement after ruling in lawsuit against former dean TSHD02nd August 2021
On April 15, 2016, Tilburg University filed charges against former dean of the Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences on the suspicions of financial fraud. On August 2, 2021, the Amsterdam District Court handed down its judgment and sentenced the former dean for, among other things, forgery and 180 hours of community service.
PhD student Alexandra Sierra wins the Laval Virtual Europe 2021 award for educational empathic Justin Beaver applications21st July 2021
Alexandra Sierra won the award last week out of sixty projects of diverse countries for her Virtual Reality ‘Justin Beaver Stories project’. In a previous experiment, Sierra and her team developed an empathic VR video game with a beaver that plays in nature. The game aims to stimulate awareness for animals and protection by playing his life and feeling his joys as well as his troubles. Now, she is developing a friendly version of this experiment through a virtual reality film to be used by children and the general public.
