The pay gap between men and women is a persistent phenomenon worldwide, and thus also in the Netherlands. The need for a good remuneration system is obvious. To be able to reward employees in a neutral and transparent way, Tilburg University has set up a process to ensure equal pay.
Tilburg University applies a transparent and neutral remuneration system based on a set of criteria for grading that is based on relevant work experience. The policy is in line with recommendations from studies of The Netherlands Institute for Human Rights (College voor de Rechten van de Mens). Also, we have gratefully used expert advice from the Dutch Network of Women Professors (Landelijk Netwerk Vrouwelijke Hoogleraren).
