Confessing our daily temptations the digital way
NIGHT TALK - Are we sharing more intimate secrets with a chatbot than we do with a human priest? We take a look at a large confession experiment at Lowlands. (language: Dutch)

Professor Marjolijn Antheunis of the Department of Communication and Cognition (TSHD) of Tilburg University gives a lecture about a digital-confession experiment recently carried out at Lowlands that examined the difference between confessing to a chatbot priest and confessing to a human priest. The experiment also sought to determine whether people experience a sense of relief after confession. The priest’s fitting response is quite relevant in this regard. Is a chatbot capable of giving such a response?
