Retrofuturism in late modern video games

Night Talk: What did our forefathers a hundred years ago think the world would be like today? This is what Retrofuturism is concerned with; looking back to the future.

It is a trend in creative culture found in novels, movies, and games. Retrofuturistic games can be read as political and social criticism on our present-day society, and as romantic nostalgia for a simpler, more transparent way of life. In this session, Dr. Frank Bosman presents multiple examples of retrofuturism in games such as Bioshock, Fallout and Wolfenstein.
