Memes
Basing their humor in implicitly shared knowledge and beliefs, memes can be hilarious and play a fundamental part in shaping communities. However, thanks to their anonymous nature and dependence on the algorithms of social networks, they can also efficiently distribute dogmatic intolerance. Can we bypass the seemingly ever-negative and -cynical modus operandi of online expression, and choose to take part in sharing and liking wholesome, tolerant content? Can we guard ourselves against political and commercial manipulation? Can we find a way to meme a better world into reality?
