Soccer
We devote attention to fitness and tactics in turn, both with and without the ball. Everyone is welcome to join in the training sessions, even if you play for a different team at weekends. The trainer will determine which group you should join based on your skills and experience, and will tell you how often you are expected to attend.
Association
The Tilburg student football association is TSVV Merlijn, which was founded in 2000. During the '00/'01 season we had just one team taking part in the Sunday league. Since then, TSVV Merlijn has grown to become one of the largest sports associations at Tilburg University. We now have teams, which play on Sundays and on Saturdays. All are registered with the national football association (the KNVB) and play in the national leagues. There is also an indoor football team which play in the local competition on weekdays.
TSVV Merlijn holds team selection matches on Saturdays and Sundays. Players are judged entirely on performance. The standard is reasonably high.
