Aires Tropicales Quintet

Aires Tropicales Woodwind Quintet is formed by Spanish and Cuban musicians: Karla Hernández (Horn), Ninián Rodríguez (Clarinet), Alicia Haro (Flute), Jorge Ruíz (Oboe) and Silvia Ruiz (Bassoon). They are all very promising students of the Fontys Academy of Music and Performing Arts.

Spanish/Cuban driven chamber music

They are guided by the rhythm as much as the heart when playing music, offering a different approach to the traditional chamber music context. Their music stands out due to the fusion of a strong energy and contrast elements, among which they can highlight different rhythms, especially native genres of Spanish and Cuban, the countries which they come from.

Variety of styles

Their performances combine movements of different contrasting pieces, in order to create a rich performance with a variety of styles, always making it special and enjoyable. The key point of their performance is to show the richness of the rhythms and melodies that their repertoire entails.

Touched by emotion

Aires Tropicales Quintet makes music to transmit those emotions that go beyond the score to make their performance touches the audience.
