“Just because my dreams are different than yours doesn't mean they're unimportant.”

Struggling in poverty, whimsical author Jo March wishes to make a name for herself in the city of New York. Inspired by her own experiences, she tells a story of growing up - the story of her sisters and her. The sisters, Meg, Beth, and Amy, each have their own aspirations and their own ways of looking at the world. Showing many different ways to be a woman in the world, they are stressing the fact that each of those ways is equally valid and important.

This modern reimagination of a classic novel takes a different, contemporary approach to the story and its characters. Praised for her artistic vision, Greta Gerwig manages to make it relevant to today’s times and show that some tales truly are timeless.

‘’One-hundred-and-fifty-year-old literature never felt so alive.’’
– Observer (UK)

‘’ [Little Women] is the cinematic equivalent of a warm hug or a mug of hot chocolate.”
– FanSided
