Language: English - Subtitles: Dutch
Free entrance.
“If you have created a conscious machine, it’s not the history of man... That's the history of gods.”
Caleb, a young programmer at a huge search engine company, wins a contest that enables him to spend a week at the private estate of the firm's brilliant CEO. When he arrives, Caleb learns that he has been chosen to be the human component in a Turing test to determine the capabilities and consciousness of Ava, a robot with artificial intelligence. It soon becomes evident that Ava is far more self-aware and deceptive than either man imagined.
Ex Machina asks tantalizing questions about identity, empathy and being human.
“The best exploration yet of whether a computer could generate the morally relevant powers of a person.”
– Daniel Dennett
“A cinematic experience with immaculate special effects that grabs you and never lets go.”
– New Scientist
