"Of all the places I could be, I just want to be here with you."

Evelyn Quan Wang, a middle-aged Chinese American immigrant, co-manages a laundromat alongside her husband, Waymond. Times are tough – their laundromat is facing issues with tax services, Waymond is set to serve Evelyn with divorce papers, and Evelyn’s relationship with her daughter, Joy, has become strained, due to Joy’s sexuality. Unexpectedly, Evelyn is entrusted with the extraordinary responsibility of uncovering the secrets of the multiverse and safeguarding it from impending destruction.

This absurd action-packed comedy delves into profound philosophical concepts like existentialism, nihilism, and absurdism. Through its comedic lens, the film also tackles themes of neurodivergence, depression, generational trauma, and the complexities of Asian American identity. Inspired by Asian martial arts films, works of Wong Kar-wai, and others, this film really does bring us everything, everywhere, all at once.
