Netspar

Netspar is a thinktank and knowledge network. Netspar is dedicated to promoting a wider understanding of the economic and social implications of pensions, aging and retirement in the Netherlands and Europe. It is a diverse network composed of government agencies and social partners, pension funds and administrators, regulatory agencies, insurers, consulting firms, and academics. Along with the partners, who make both financial and policy contributions, some 300 national and international researchers (fellows) are part of the knowledge network.

The network’s unique, open structure allows the parties joined under the Netspar umbrella to direct their efforts to addressing long-term issues surrounding aging and the financing of retirement. Our academic and industry partners help set the research agenda and prioritize the research. Affiliated researchers ensure that the research is performed in accordance with academic protocols, as well as providing for an independent report on the research results – under the supervision of the Scientific Council, Editorial Board, and Netspar Board of Directors.

To be an effective network organization, Netspar must encourage cooperation and foster mutual trust and open communication. Network development is thus one of Netspar’s core activities, along with developing and sharing knowledge.
