ABC at Harvard University on The City 2.0: smart People, Places, Planning

Urban vitality and sustainable urban living is one of the great challenges of the ‘New Urban World’. In the light of these challenges, a new term has been introduced: ‘smart’ (or ‘intelligent’) cities. A smart city aims to improve its performance using, in particular through an intelligent governance of knowledge, information and digital technology.

The Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS), together with The Regional Science Academy (TRSA), Centre for the Future of Places – Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm (Sweden) and Harvard Kennedy School - Harvard University, Cambridge (USA), will organize an Advanced Brainstorm Carrefour (ABC) on 11-12 November on the topic of The City 2.0 to address challenging questions about Smart Cities from a research and policy angle.
