A workshop on EU health data governance and the proposed European Health Data Space

Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology, and Society (TILT) is pleased to announce the online workshop on:

EU health data governance and the proposed European Health Data Space.

The workshop will explore the contours of EU health data governance and, in particular, examine the Commission’s plans for the EHDS and the policy options for health data access and sharing therein, including the types and sources of health data, the stakeholders involved, the expected benefits and the ethical and legal concerns, and the creation of a single market for digital health (data) and innovation.

The workshop speakers include:

  • Hugo van Haastert, European Commission;
  • Mahsa Shabani, Ghent University;
  • Timo Minssen, Centre for Advanced Studies in Biomedical Innovation Law (CeBIL), University of Copenhagen;
  • Santa Slokenberga, Uppsala University; and
  • Giulia Schneider, Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies.

The workshop intends to map the contours of EU health data governance and, in particular examine the Commission’s proposal for the EHDS and the policy options for and implications of health data access and sharing therein.

Digital Legal Studies is a collaboration between Tilburg University, the University of Amsterdam, Radboud University Nijmegen, and Maastricht University that aims to stimulate pioneering research in the area of law & technology.
