TSB Honorary Doctor Larry Weiskrantz passed away

Prof. Larry Weiskrantz died at the age of 91 a few days ago. In 1997 Weiskrantz, professor of Neuropsychology at Oxford University, received an honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSW, now TSB). At that time Beatrice de Gelder, professor of Cognitive Neuroscience, was honorary promotor.

From the Oxford University website: Professor Larry Weiskrantz 1926-2018

"It is with great sadness that we report that Larry Weiskrantz passed away over the weekend. Larry was the Chair in Experimental Psychology and head of the department between 1967 and 1993. He fought energetically and successfully to empower psychology as a scientific discipline at Oxford, and lead the Department of Experimental Psychology into its modern age. Larry remains a giant in the field. Through his pioneering integrative approach, he made seminal breakthroughs, convincingly demonstrating the existence of implicit long-term memories, introducing the phenomenon of blindsight, and much more."
