E-book on strategic logistical collaboration

Published: 15th September 2020 Last updated: 17th September 2020

For three years, many researchers and students from Tilburg University, together with companies in the transport sector, have focused on the question of how it is possible that horizontal collaboration does not get off the ground, while the contribution to the improvement of profitability and sustainability seems so obvious. Recently, the e-book Compose: strategische logistieke samenwerking [Compose: Strategic logistical collaboration] has been published with the most important findings from the research conducted as part of the Compose project.

Using a step-by-step plan to achieve successful horizontal collaboration, the results of the project are described and illustrated with practical situations.

In recent years, Tilburg University, together with branch association evofenedex and with the support of NWO / TKI, has done research on the barriers to collaboration and ways to bridge them. More than fifty students have graduated after research at one of evofenedex's members in four different research disciplines: social psychology, law, operations research, and supply chain management.

In addition to the book, this has resulted in a tool to match potential collaboration partners: https://www.supplychainsamenwerking.nl/ (in Dutch).
