Barbara Deleersnyder has been appointed as Professor of Marketing
Tilburg University has appointed dr. Barbara Deleersnyder as Professor of Marketing at the Marketing Department in the Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM), effective May 1, 2020. Her research is dedicated to support marketing managers to pursue strategies that benefit the firm, its customers, and society at large.
Deleersnyder’s research interests lie in the application of econometric and time-series methods to approach various strategic and societal marketing problems that individual firms or entire industries are facing. A large part of her work deals with marketing and decision-making in uncertain economic times, and more recently, she has been involved in research projects on emerging challenges in grocery retailing where powerful and dominant retailers have become the gatekeeper to the consumer market.
She teaches in the Msc Marketing Management and Marketing Analytics as well as in the Research Master and PhD program at the Tilburg School of Economics and Management, with courses such as Strategic Marketing Management, Pricing and Revenue Management, and Advanced Research Techniques.
Barbara Deleersnyder is currently working as an Associate Professor of Marketing at the Tilburg University. In November 2003, she obtained a PhD in Marketing from the KULeuven (Belgium), after which she joined the Erasmus University in Rotterdam for four years. Since January 2008, she is a faculty member at the Tilburg University. Her studies have appeared in leading international marketing journals under which the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Quantitative Marketing & Economics, Journal of Retailing, and Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science.
