8 Tilburg University programs rated as best in their fields
In the Elsevier Beste Studies 2021 ranking, that was published on Thursday 7 October, two Tilburg University bachelor’s programs and six master’s programs are rated as best of their kind.
Elsevier annually compares a large number of degree programs in Dutch higher education. The new ranking is based on student assessments from the National Student Survey (NSE) 2021. In addition to the information on student satisfaction, the program reports compiled by Elsevier Weekblad and ResearchNed also contain information about accreditation reports, selection and admission requirements, the composition of the student population, study success, the labour market position of alumni and the assessment of teachers by students.
Number 1 programs
The bachelor’s programs that were rated as best programs of their kind are Bsc Economics and Bsc Tax Law. The number 1 master programs are the masters in Fiscal Economics, Strategic Management, Public Governance (Bestuurskunde), International and European Law, Law (Rechtsgeleerdheid) and LLB Tax Law (Fiscaal Recht).
Silver and bronze medals
Apart from the ranking per program, Elsevier also publishes a medal ranking on the basis of a comparison between the NSE scores of a specific program and the sector as a whole. Tilburg University achieves a silver medal for the bachelor Fiscal Economics, which means that this program scores significantly better than the sector average on 6 or 7 of the 11 NSE items that are used to calculate the rankings. There are bronze medals (significantly better on 4 or 5 items) for our bachelor Philosophy, our master International Business Taxation, our master Business Law (Ondernemingsrecht) and our Research Master Individual Differences and Assessment.
