Marcel Poorthuis is a Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau

Emeritus Professor Marcel Poorthuis received a knighthood from the Mayor of Hilversum last week.
Poorthuis was appointed as a Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau for his achievements in science, his efforts for churches in Hilversum, and his commitment to the Catholic Council for Judaism (Katholieke Raad voor het Jodendom). As an Associate and Full Professor at the Tilburg School of Catholic Theology, he made a significant contribution to the Chair of Interreligious Dialogue until his retirement in 2021.
