Paulina Snijders has been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), effective September 1, 2023. She will be responsible for the portfolios of Finance, Real Estate, ICT, and Digital Transformation.

Paulina Snijders is looking forward to working in Groningen from September 1: “I will be sad to leave Brabant and Tilburg University, where I have had a very pleasant time collaborating with people both within and outside the university community. But I could not pass up this opportunity to return to the world of UMCs, and the UMC Groningen, too. I am thrilled at the prospect of living and working in Groningen, where all the action is going to be in the near future.

The connection with the region and the university of course, data-informed working, the health landscape of the future, and, in co-creation with all business operations colleagues, to facilitate the great work in care, education, and research, I’m very much looking forward to it all.”

Hugo Reumkens, chairman of the Tilburg University Board of Governors: “We congratulate Paulina and wish her every success in her new role on the UMCG Board of Directors. We are happy that she will continue to apply her talents in the world of education and research. In the near future, we will start a procedure to recruit a new Board member. The date of her farewell be announced later as well.”

Paulina Snijders has been Vice-President and a member of the Tilburg University Executive Board since February 15, 2018, and also serves on the board of Universities of The Netherlands. She is an experienced administrator, having worked at UMCs in the past, e.g., as Control and Compliance Director at the Erasmus Medical Center and before that as Finance and Control Director at the Academic Medical Center Amsterdam.
