Throughout his long and illustrious career as a scientist, director and advisor in the public domain, Professor Camps remained committed to improving civic and social organizations’ effectiveness, embedding them in society and enabling them to contribute to important issues in education, healthcare and infrastructure.

By publishing his work both frequently and accessibly, he demonstrably contributed to the advancement of civil society’s organizational thinking. He held many advisory positions, was active in conflict resolution and as a coach.

Influenced how Dutch government is run

Ever since his appointment at TIAS School for Business and Society and Tilburg University in 2000, Professor Camps played an important part in various study programs for managers, directors and Supervisory Board members in the public and non-profit sectors. In his role as Academic Director of the Program for Directors in the Public and Non-Profit Sectors, he influenced how the Dutch government is run. Experienced directors regularly refer to their positive experiences with this program under Professor Camps’ guidance.

Shaping a new type of leadership

In addition to his academic work, Professor Camps was CEO at consulting firm Berenschot and also held positions at various civic organizations.
