Jos van Lange new member of Tilburg University Board of Governors

PRESS RELEASE October 11th 2017 - Economist Jos van Lange joined the Tilburg University Board of Governors on 1 October, succeeding Ingrid Doerga and taking responsibility for the financial policy and operations portfolio.

Until 31 September, Van Lange (61 years of age) had been the managing director of Rabobank Netherlands and CEO of the Rabo Real Estate Group. Since then he has served on boards and as a professional regulator and consultant. He is an alumnus of Tilburg University (known at the time as the Catholic University of Tilburg), where he studied General Economics and graduated cum laude.

Jan Hommen, chairman of the Board of Governors, says: ‘Jos van Lange has extensive experience and the right mindset to serve as an exemplary governor and supervisor of Tilburg University for the next four years.’ Jos van Lange himself says: ‘I have benefitted tremendously through the years from my education and training in Tilburg. I am very much looking forward to applying everything I have learned and experienced for the benefit of this fantastic university.’

Van Lange has years of experience as the CEO and CFRO of Rabobank. His current activities include regulatory and advisory positions in the financial world (NMB Bank Tanzania, funeral insurer DELA), and in the non-profit sector (Zuyderland Medical Center, charity regulator CBF). He is also the chairman of the Support Fund for Catholic Higher Education (Tilburg University).
