Published: 21st September 2016 Last updated: 01st May 2019

PRESS RELEASE 21 Sept. 2016 - In the past few years, Tilburg University has steadily risen in the Times Higher Education Ranking and now has a place in the top 200. This is mainly due to the rise in the number of citations and the improved research reputation. In addition, the number of PhD defenses has increased.

The British weekly magazine Times Higher Education annually ranks universities in the areas of education (including the international reputation and student/staff ratio) and research (citations, international reputation, research income per member of staff, private sector income, and international outlook).

Tilburg University rose in the THE ranking from 275th position in 2014 to 201 in 2015 and now ranks within the top 200. The Executive Board is happy with these results: "Tilburg University shows that it belongs to the world top in teaching and research. We are constantly working on the quality of both our teaching and our research, on which we are in close consultation with our students and researchers. And that is reflected by the figures."
