Ten top programs at Tilburg University

Press release, September 24th 2015-Tilburg University has achieved a remarkable result in the 2015 Elsevier ranking. Students have rated no less than six Bachelor’s and four Master’s programs at Tilburg University as the best of their kind. This was shown by the results of Elsevier Beste Studies 2015, in which Elsevier weekly magazine compares a large number of degree programs in Dutch higher education. The student assessments are based on the National Student Survey (NSE).

The six Bachelors with a #1 position are: Communication and Information Sciences, Economics, Fiscal Economics, International Business Administration, Psychology, and Liberal Arts and Sciences. The Master’s programs of Strategic Management, Law (tied first place), Fiscal Economics, and International and European Law. According to the students, Tilburg University ranks second in the list of best specialist universities and fifth in the total ranking of all Dutch universities.

In addition to the students, the professors have also assessed the universities. In their opinion, Tilburg University (as in previous years) is the best of all specialist universities. Moreover, according to the professors, Tilburg University has the best programs in the fields of Accountancy, Economics, Econometrics and Operations Research, Tax Law, and Communication and Information Sciences. These assessments were based on the quality of the Bachelor’s program, the variety of the Master’s programs on offer, the quality of the teachers, and the quality of the academic publications.

Rector Magnificus Emile Aarts: ‘We are very proud of these great results. Tilburg University is student-centric and science-driven. We put a great deal of effort into this. Our programs are carefully assessed and evaluated, internally as well as by external parties, and that is obviously appreciated.’
