Press release, September 25th, 2015
As in previous years, Tilburg University is the best Dutch specialist university in the Elsevier Ranking, according to professors. Students rank the university second on the list of specialist universities, after Wageningen. If the total scores of all universities are compared, Tilburg University is in fifth position. Every year, Elsevier compares a large number of degree programs in Dutch higher education (research universities and universities of applied sciences).

Rector Magnificus Emile Aarts: ‘We are very proud of these great results. Tilburg University is student-centric and science-driven. We put a great deal of effort into this. Our programs are carefully assessed and evaluated, internally as well as by external parties, and the results show that our efforts are paying off.’

Top-scoring programs

The professors indicated per discipline what programs, in their opinion, are the best in the Netherlands. Their criteria were the quality of the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs and of the teachers and the academic publications. Tilburg University has the best program in four of the six categories for Economics and Law.

  • Accountancy
  • Economics
  • Econometrics and Operational Research
  • Tax Law

In the category of Communication and Information Sciences, Tilburg University’s program comes out on top as well, according to the professors.
