Prof. Jos van Hillegersberg appointed as Academic Director of Jheronimus Academy of Data Science
The Executive Boards of Tilburg University and Eindhoven University of Technology have appointed Prof. Jos van Hillegersberg as academic director and professor of Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS) as of March 1, 2022. This is a new position. Jos van Hillegersberg will be the scientific figurehead for JADS and will liaise with Tilburg University and Eindhoven University. He will also play a principal role in the further contribution of JADS to the regional ecosystem.
Jos van Hillegersberg (1968) is Professor of Business Information Systems and Chair of the High-Tech Business and Entrepreneurship Department at the University of Twente. He is responsible for the Department’s research program, that focuses on studying, creating, and evaluating new ways of organizing enterprises and business networks. Jos’ own research interests include the logistics, healthcare, and service sectors. Over the past year, Jos was already a member of the accreditation panel of JADS ‘s-Hertogenbosch for the educational visitation and is thus well acquainted with this unique academy.
New position
In his new function, Jos van Hillegersberg will further position JADS as a scientific center of expertise in the field of value creation, business, and entrepreneurship based on Data Science. He will liaise closely with the parent institutions, Eindhoven University of Technology and Tilburg University, and the founding partners, the City of ‘s-Hertogenbosch and the Province of North Brabant. Jos van Hillegersberg on his new position as director/professor at JADS: "Data Science is becoming increasingly important for finding answers to the great challenges of our time. JADS plays an important role in this. I am going to work to further professionalize that role."

Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS)
