Tilburg University launches ‘Innovate your Education’
10th July 2020Tilburg University invests in educational innovation to educate students to become professionals and leaders in a society in which digitization and diversity play a major role. In order to support educational innovation and elicit innovative educational ideas, Tilburg University established EDUiLAB, the Educational Innovation Lab. This week, EDUiLAB launches the ‘Innovate your Education’ program.

€ 1.3 million for research into managing Antarctic tourism

#6 worldwide in Business Administration in the Shanghai Ranking 2020
02nd July 2020Tilburg University maintains its position in the top 50 in the world for Business Administration (6), Finance (26), and Management (37) and shows a major stride forward in Public Administration from 51-75 to 27th. In addition, the university is ranked in the 51-75 band in the fields of Economics, Psychology, and Sociology and moved up in Political Sciences and Educational Sciences from the 201-300 band to 151-200.

During WW II, African American soldiers made England a less racist place, lasting until this day
29th June 2020Can racial prejudice be reduced or is it a constant of the human condition? And can interventions unfold effects that persist? Especially in light of recent events such as the Syrian refugee crisis, and more recently, the Black Lives Matter protests in the US, answers to these questions are desperately needed. In the long run, integration appears to have a positive effect on racial attitudes, which are passed on from generation to generation.

The Bundesliga & corona: Smashing the myth of home advantage
28th June 2020The German Bundesliga was the first European soccer league to resume play after the quarantine rules for the corona crisis were relaxed. The competition started again on May 16, without live spectators, after an interruption of more than two months. John Einmahl and Jan Magnus analyzed the data and concluded that home advantage disappears.

Educational innovators Tilburg University join ComeniusNetwork
25th June 2020The Comenius Network welcomes new members, including two lecturers from Tilburg University. Dr. Michael Bender and Dr. Marco Da Rin will join as Teaching Fellow for innovation projects in their education. The Comenius Network brings together acknowledged educational innovators to enhance higher education. Members of the network distinguish themselves by an appealing combination of the love for teaching and the way in which they put educational innovation into practice.

Mirjam van Reisen raises € 2 million for research into Digital Education for Resilience in Africa
15th June 2020Mirjam van Reisen, professor of International Relations, Innovation and Care, recently obtained three grants for her research, totalling € 2 million. The programmes focus on strengthening digital opportunities in Africa through capacity building and education.

Student team Tilburg University winner of national SDG-Challenge University 2020
10th June 2020On June 5 the final of the SDG-Challenge University 2020 took place in Amsterdam. Fifteen student teams representing as many universities, tackled a challenge of the organization within the field of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) The student team of Tilburg University / JADS came out as winner of the Challenge.
